More Content and Bug Fixes


After playtesting yesterdays patch, I've identified and fixed a number of bugs and balance issues. I've also finished up a big wave of item/ability content that I've merged into this patch too. Have fun!

Items

  • Leather armor types now offer Evade Chance implicits and item modifiers
  • Added the Tattered Cloak leather armor type
  • Added various skill tree item modifiers to shields and helmets

In-game Skills

  • Added the "Heart of the Lion" Uber skill - Reduces Be the Lion's mana cost to 0
  • Added the "Shout of Defiance" Uber skill - Reduces Fortifying Cry's mana cost to 0
  • Added the "Skipped Leg Day" Uber skill - Increases Shield Toss' damage by 100%
  • Added the "Planet Cracker" Uber skill - Increases Shockwave's damage by 100%
  • Added the "Low Pressure System" Uber skill - Increases Whirlwind's area of effect by 60%
  • Added the "Sundowner" Uber skill - Increases Whirlwind's damage by 100%
  • Added the "Sirocco" Uber skill - Doubles Whirlwind's channel rate 

Events

  • The Discount Shopkeeper in-game event now offers between 20 and 25 items for sale, instead of between 10 and 15

UI

  • Added a display that shows which upgrades you've selected on a run. It's located next to the mana bar for now

Balance

  • Tier 2 monsters (Ice Slime, Angry Hornet, Plague Rat, etc) now have more health but deal slightly less damage
  • The Treant now has ~25% more health and deals ~30% more damage
  • Burning Weather now gives a base 25% chance for monsters to ignite you, instead of 10% per monster level. The original value was silly, as it resulted in a 100% ignite chance once you hit monster level 10!
  • The Burning Ground effect from Burning Weather now deals .25 damage per tick per monster level instead of 1 damage per tick per monster level
  • Steel Swords have had their implicit physical damage value reduced by 25%
  • Shockwave now deals 1 additional damage per point invested
  • Whirlwind, Shockwave, and Shield Toss damage multiplier skills now can be upgraded to level 10 instead of 3, 8, and 8, respectively
  • Multiplied the drop rate of Tier 2 uniques by 10
  • Multiplied the drop rate of Tier 1 uniques by 5
  • Monster level now factors into how much Research you earn as you play


Bug Fixes

  • The Adventurer uses the proper health/mana scaling set now. No more +5 mana per level, sorry!
  • Closing the Explore tree with any "cancel" button no longer causes a tooltip to linger
  • May have finally fixed the invincible player issue! An experimental fix is in place, let me know if you see it happen again
  • The gold cost for Monster Level and Area Speed properly resets upon returning to the Nexus
  • Shockwave no longer scales its area to infinity when using Destroyer of Worlds
  • Channeled abilities and debuffs no longer "tick" while gameplay is paused
  • Enemies no longer heal when you level up (oops, event-based programming is fun)

Known Issues

  • When playing with a controller, item tooltips may rotate on the screen during gameplay
  • Minor/Major orbs still drop under certain circumstances, these do nothing though
