Patch Notes (4/2/2022)


Items:

  • All items have implicits now
  • Item implicits have ranges instead of being fixed value. This hopefully makes finding items a bit more exciting and varied
  • Some new items have been added, including improved item affinity (ex. Cloth Mitts will spawn more caster-y things while Copper Gloves more attack-y things)
  • A bunch of new item modifiers have been added to the pool
  • Items have a progressively reduced chance to roll an additional mod when they drop. Second mod has a 40% chance of rolling, third 22%, fourth 8%. This applies to the shop as well

Skills:

  • Be the Lion's increased attack damage modifier has increased from 20% per point spent to 100%
  • Whirlwind consumes mana twice as fast (.5 seconds per spend instead of 1 second)
  • Some skills can have more points invested
  • Melee Swipe (the default attack) is now 50% bigger

UI:

  • The Skills NPC now alerts you if you have points to spend
  • The "exploration" bar now indicates what you're exploring towards
  • Misc improvements to tooltips
  • Orbs now look like orbs
  • Learning a skill automatically slots it, if you have an open slot
  • Learning a skill automatically pages the "stats" panel to that skill
  • Learning a skill upgrade pages the stats panel to the skill you're upgrading

Other Balance:

  • The Adventurer gains no additional mana when leveling
  • The Arcanist gains 2 mana per level instead of 10
  • Base mana regen is now 10% of your mana pool instead of 5%
  • The Arcanist starts with more health but gains slightly less per level
  • Base item drop rate halved
  • Base orb drop rate halved
  • Enemies drop mana crystals 33% more often
  • All fire damage has a base 10% chance to ignite

Other:

  • Dying now has a real animation

Bug Fixes:

  • Whirlwind no longer persists in town after you die
  • Enemies now properly de-target you when you die
  • You can no longer gain health while dead
  • Implicit values are properly serialized on save
  • Wooded Trail's camera stops scrolling when it reaches the end
  • The arcanist no longer ignites things arbitrarily due to a fire damage conversion bug
  • The player can be properly ignited now
  • Channeled skills don't constantly reset if you equip them to more than one skill slot
  • Implicits properly apply to your stats now (they were 100% ignored before)
